WATCH: Syracuse Mayor Walsh holds digital briefing at 1 p.m.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — City of Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is holding a virtual press briefing Friday at 1 p.m.

The City of Syracuse announced Friday afternoon that its starting the process to remove the Columbus Statue.

Syracuse’s Columbus statue to be taken down

Mayor Walsh was also waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test. He’s been quarantined as a precaution since Thursday after potentially being exposed.
