Syracuse has had a lot of success in recent years with prospects for Florida and talented defenders. One who recently received an offer is Greg Delaine Jr., Forth Myers (FL) high defensive back.
"Syracuse offered me the other day," said Delaine. "Syracuse, you have a young defense. I have the feeling that if I use my talents there, I can start my first year when I am on point. Pure corner and security too. You offered me because I am a dominant one DB am I am strong, I can play zone, I can play safety. "

Delaine is still learning about Syracuse but already has some knowledge. He is aware of the recent success the Orange had in secondary school with three players likely to be selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.
"I've done some research," said Delaine. "I know number seven (Andre Cisco) and number 14 (Garrett Williams). I met with them. We talked about it."
While Delaine is planning an official visit to the state of Iowa in June, his interest in Syracuse is very real. In fact, he has the orange in his top three along with Toledo and Iowa State. Other schools that have offered are Wake Forest, Central Florida, SMU, and Coastal Carolina. Wisconsin is also showing interest.
Delaine is unclear about his decision-making period at this point, but official visits could go a long way in determining that. Assuming the NCAA will allow face-to-face visits after the current May 31 deadline, Syracuse will likely schedule official visits after that date. Delaine is a destination to watch out for, possibly planning one.
