ROCHESTER, N.Y. (SYRACUSE CRUNCH) –

Alex Barre-Boulet scored the winning goal in extra time to beat the Rochester Americans 4-3 tonight's Syracuse Crunch at the Blue Cross Arena.

The win brings the crunch to 9-6-1-0 in the season and 4-3-1-0 in the 12-game season with Amerks.

Goalkeeper Sam Montembeault scored his fourth straight win with 25 saves in the net for the crunch. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 17-of-21 between the pipes for the Americans. Syracuse went 4-1 in the power play and 3-3 on penalties.

The Americans were first on the board at 5:52 when Dominic Franco ran down the left wing and returned a feed for Dalton Smith to send in when he came down the slot. Two minutes later, Remi Elie broke up a pass and quickly took advantage of the turnover with a shot on his knees.

The crunch stole you back, leaving 43 seconds in the first period. Boris Katchouk threw the puck just wide of the net so Mitchell Stephens could break in the back door.

Syracuse equalized the result with another late-season goal at 19:05 in the middle verse. Stephens carried the puck into the zone along the right boards and centered a feed on Raddysh to snap home during the power play.

The crunch took the lead in the third period in just 44 seconds. Alex Green shot a shot from the left circle that was stopped, but grabbed his own rebound and hit on the second chance.

At 8:04 am, the Americans finished the game 3-3 only to force overtime when Mattias Samuelsson shot a long shot to the left through traffic.

A minute into extra time, Barre-Boulet found just enough space to stick the puck between the post and Luukkonen's left skate, catching the game winner.

The Crunch return home on Saturday to host the Utica Comets.
