Flu Shot Clinic Being Supplied at Syracuse VA Medical Heart – Spectrum Information

The Syracuse VA Medical Center is hosting a drive-thru clinic for veterans every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday through next month.

All you need is your government issued ID card to drive to the VA garage’s third floor between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The clinic allows veterans to get the flu shot without having to get out of their vehicle.

The goal is to lessen congestion inside the medical center as a precaution against COVID-19.

“It’s one of those extra steps they can take. And, it’s also during the flu season, a good thing to do to help prevent get the flu because especially if you’re elderly, it’s just one of those things that, you don’t want to get sick with that,” said Syracuse VA Medical Center infection control nurse Valentine Barzac.

The Rome and Binghamton VA Clinics are hosting similar events through November 17. In Rome, the clinic takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. In Binghamton, the clinic is every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
